Mrs. Alice E. (Cilley) Wentzel, a lifelong resident of Melrose, passed away on Monday evening, May 7, 2012 at EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Melrose, at age 89.

Mrs. Wentzel was born on September 23, 1922 in Revere, daughter of the late Albert E. and Bessie (Mattatall) Cilley. Raised and educated in Melrose, Alice and her late husband raised their two sons in Melrose as well. A proud homemaker, Alice worked very hard to keep a good home and care for her two children.

She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Wentzel, Jr. Devoted mother of Arthur F. "Skip" Wentzel, III of Beverly, and Douglas A. Wentzel of Peabody. Former mother-in-law of Violet Baxter of Lynn. Cherished grandmother of 2 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Alice's life for her Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, celebrated on Friday, May 11 at 10 AM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
