Condolence & Memory Journal

Jim was a friend whom I met when we were naval officers together at the US naval air station in Morocco in 1961, and with whom I have ever since kept in touch. He was one of a kind, a man of prodigious erudition and good humor and a gentleman of the old school. His language was never adulterated with slang or modern usages. He death leaves a great void, knowing that I can never laugh with him again at the strange things that go on in the world.

To Jim's family, what a gentleman Jim was! As his neighbor, I grew up across the street from Jim, who always seemed as gentlemanly and worldly as people come. When he would visit during holidays, he always brought my mom her favorite beer and regaled us with stories of his time in the military or living in NYC. He was such an institution growing up, and he will be missed dearly!
