Tribute & Message From The Family

Geraldine M. "Gerri" Corrado, a resident of Quincy, and formerly of South Boston, passed away peacefully in Lincoln on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at age 72.

Geraldine was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 14, 1949, one of five children of the late Robert A. and Marie T. (Keane) Corrado. Raised in Melrose, she graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1967, and UMASS – Boston, Class of 1972.

Gerri was instilled with strength and determination from her mother who raised five children after the loss of her husband. She dedicated herself to her career for over 30 years, and most recently, maintained her responsibilities while facing considerable health challenges. Gerri received her JD from Suffolk Law School in 1989. She worked in real estate administration at Bingham McCutcheon for several years, and for the last nine years at K&L Gates in Boston. Hard working and intelligent, Gerri generously shared her knowledge and experience with others as a Lease Administrator, making a positive impact on those around her.

Gerri was a beloved figure in the family. She loved her nieces and nephews as her own, took a special interest in each of them, and encouraged them to be the best they could. Her generous gifts were touched with thoughtfulness.

Gerri was a unique woman with a creative mind. She loved music both listening and playing, movies, theatre, photography, politics and was incredibly well read. She was a tenacious Boston sports fan, loving all sports. She was involved with local theatre, kept her mind sharp watching Jeopardy nightly, and volunteered for the USO. Gerri also had a special place in her heart for Provincetown. She loved the energy of Provincetown, the restaurants, and often visited during the annual film festival.

Gerri will be deeply missed, but will be forever remembered for her brilliant mind, giving nature, and devotion to family. Her positive impact will continue on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.

Gerri was the dear and beloved sister of Donna MacDonald of Wakefield, Robert Corrado and his wife Suzanne of Portland, ME, Richard Corrado and his wife Susan of Indian Hill, OH, and the late Maryann Blue. Cherished aunt of Amy Leeman and her husband Gerard, Stacy MacDonald, Katy Lavoie and her husband Ben, Chris Corrado, Michael Corrado, Nicholas Corrado and his fiancé Afton Thomas, and Alexandra Corrado. Loving great aunt of Sarah, Nick, Adrianna, and Marissa. Gerri is also survived by many close and cherished friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Sunday, Sept. 12 from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerri's memory may be made to Dana Farber Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston MA 02284, or to the Center for Coastal Studies, 5 Holway Ave., Provincetown, MA 02657, www.coastalstudies.org

My dear Donna and family. When I think of Gerri I remember dancing and singing in Donna's kitchen. Drinking champagne and enjoying one song after another. My heart hurts for my Donna, I know how deep your relationship was. Gerri went to heaven with a smile , and thinking, Donna was right. God bless you all.

Dear Donna and family; I am so saddened by Gerri's passing. She was a special lady. I have many fun memories of good times shared, dancing and/or singing karaoke. She was a force of nature, super smart, hard working and determined. Yet she also had a softer side and I remember many times where she was the first to fill a room with laughter; and she made you want to laugh right along with her. I take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. And I am keeping your family in my prayers. Sending much love.

Dear Gerri, you have moved on to new, fabulous adventures without us. Who was Gerri? No, what was Gerri? Gerri was: intelligent; professional; elegant; impeccable; funny; FUN; trips; to P-town; dark red lipstick; perfectly coiffed, although she would insist her hair was sticking up uncontrollably; Sauvignon Blanc; grilled salmon - BURN IT!; Woodstock attendee; boastful of her tiramisu; “what do you mean there’s no cake!”; actress; photographer; the dormouse in Alice in Wonderland; Red Sox fanatic; Yankoff hater; 60s survivor - did I mention Woodstock?; my mother Grace’s Oscar showcase companion; insistent that golf is not excruciatingly boring; defender of Leonardo DiCaprio; MCU movie first night attendee with my family; generous; crushing on Timothee Chalamet; chocolate chip pancakes; birthday kidnapper; my dearest friend; gone way too soon; but most of all, a proud member of what she called “the greatest family ever - the Corrados.” Gerri was truly, madly, deeply in lov
